How do I join?
To join, just fill out the application and email it to info@appalachianmountainrescue.org along with photo copies of your drivers license, DMV driving record, a criminal background record, TB test record, Hep B vaccine record, and 2 letters of recommendation. Also, mail $15 to cover the application fee to the address listed at the bottom of the application. Once we receive everything, the board will review and be in touch to let you know the next steps.
How often do you train?
AMRT holds monthly training during Climb with a Ranger at Obed, TN and monthly trainings with Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We also hold a quarterly training mission that involves real world scenarios. Take a look at our calender to see the full list of training opportunities.
What kind of rescues do you perform?
Our rescues are typically on technical mountain terrain, both low-angle and high-angle.
